Meet Valerie Watson

I’m Valerie, founder of Queen City Roofing & Exteriors KC, a Kansas City native, and a mom to two daughters.

Starting this company was personal. I wanted to build a better life for my daughters and myself, and show them what it looks like to believe in yourself and do the work to make something happen. I wanted them to see their mom take a chance on herself.

I know what it means to start over. Rebuilding parts of my life while raising a family and building a business has challenged me and made me stronger. There have been long days, hard lessons, and a lot of learning. I’m proud of the woman I’ve become, and I bring that determination to Queen City.

Honesty, integrity, accountability, and transparency guide how I work. I’m hands-on with inspections, explaining what I find and helping homeowners understand their options. If a repair is what your roof needs, that’s what I’ll recommend. I want you to feel confident in your decision, not pressured into spending money on work you don’t need.

We welcome every homeowner, and empowering women is especially close to my heart. In a male-dominated industry, I want women to feel comfortable asking questions, confident in their decisions, and respected throughout the process, whether it’s their first home or one they’ve managed for decades. My vision for Queen City reaches beyond the next project. I’m building toward a company known for quality craftsmanship, a well-trained team, and relationships that last. I want our growth to create meaningful opportunities for the people who work with us and help support their families, while keeping the care we give homeowners at the center of every decision.

I want my daughters to be proud of what I built and how I built it. For my customers, I want Queen City to be the company they can turn to with confidence, knowing they’ll be listened to, treated fairly, and given honest guidance about their home.
